We, the people who have worked on this web site, and the email list(s) connected to it, are women disabled by chronic illnesses who believe in the importance of equality and empowerment for women and girls with physical and psychiatric/mental disabilities/challenges/different abilities.

If you are isolated by a disability, please know that you are not alone. Your life is important, and matters.
Never accept anything less than the equality and respect you deserve.

Update, February 2008!

We now have another sister site. DAISIES: Dedicated Advocacy, Individual Support, Independence, and Education for Schizophrenia and Related Disorders was founded by Jen of Sick Chicks and Twisted Sisters last year. It has an online support group for people with mental illnesses. If you are dealing with a psychiatric disability, check it out.

As always, our other sister site is Feminist Resources for Women and Girls. Check that out for information on many issues that affect women's lives!
